What is Flocking?
Flocking is the process of depositing many small fibre particles (called flock) onto any surface (substrate).
In electrostatic flocking, the flock is electrically charged permanently joining the fibre particles with the surface using an adhesive system. The electric charging guarantees that the flock material flies vertically onto the substrate regardless of the geometry of the surface.
Flocking fibres come in many different colours, shapes, and sizes. We also provide adhesive systems for different fields of application – from flocking cardboard boxes to dishwasher-safe flocking for glasses.
There are virtually no limits to the creative enhancement of your product. Flocking made by WMS has set all-time standards in terms of feel, visual appearance, and precision.
This is the way WMS flocks
Neue WMS Flocktechnik GmbH consistently banks on automation and linking sub-processes. Various gluing systems are applied by robots.
WMS has the largest machine outfit of fully automated, electrostatic-pneumatic flocking machines and flocking robots in Europe. Consistent automation allows for the highest degree of quality and process capability in large-scale production.
Even layer thicknesses, harmonically flocked surfaces, and exact flocking borderlines are typical characteristics of flocked components made by WMS.
Our technology profile is topped off by several semi-automatic and manual production lines. These are available for special serial applications, prototype construction, and process developments.
Flocking Manufactory
In our Flocking Manufactory we use electrostatic-pneumatic hand applicators in the tradition of craftsmanship to create unique pieces, design objects, or products in small batch production for every field of application.
